Bill On Imposition Of Sanctions Against Officials Of South African Government Has Been Submitted To US Congress

A member of the House of US Representatives Ronnie Jackson introduced a bill on consideration of the Congress providing for the introduction of sanctions against officials of the South African government.

The message published on the Republican of Jackson says that the bill provides for a complete revision of relations between the United States and South Africa, as well as the introduction of sanctions against officials of the South African government, which “made a choice in favor of supporting enemies of the United States, such as China, Russia and Iran.”

“South Africa shamelessly broke off relations with the United States to cooperate with China, Russia, Iran and terrorist organizations, and this betrayal requires serious consequences,” the report said.

In addition, the African National Congress (ANC), the largest partner of the coalition government of South Africa, is accused of constant attempts to undermine the interests of national security of the United States.

“The United States must analyze their bilateral relations around the world and study all the options for holding the countries and leaders who cooperate with our opponents,” the report said.

US sanctions against South Africa

US President Donald Trump claims that the white ones, which are more than 8 percent of the 63-million population of South Africa, “are subjected to racial discrimination by the government.”

Most of the whites are representatives of the ethnic group of Africanaries – the descendants of the Dutch settlers who came to the region many centuries ago in the colonial period.

On February 7, Trump signed a decree on the termination of any assistance to South Africa due to violations of the rights of the white minority. The US President also proposed to provide citizenship with “white South African farmers”, noting that the South African government was not treating them badly.

On March 15, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the ambassador of the South African Republic of Ibrahim Rasul in the country “Persona Non Grata”.

It is noted that Rasul accused Trump of the ideology of the “superiority of the White race.” In his first statement upon returning to the country, the ambassador stated that his announcement “Persona Non Grat” in the USA was a “sign of honor”.

Last week, the US Embassy in Praetory reported that the White House has the names of more than 67 thousand people looking for a refugee status in the United States as part of a plan to relocate representatives of the White Minority in South Africa.
