The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev held bilateral negotiations with the Supreme Representative of the European Union on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening political, economic and cultural interaction between the European Union and Kyrgyzstan. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of roadmaps for the deepening of ties between the European Union and Central Asia.
The parties also discussed issues of regional security, climate change and support of initiatives aimed at developing the region.
The Foreign Minister noted that regular contacts reflect a general desire to expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation. He added that Kyrgyzstan needs European technologies and investments to implement large projects in areas such as transport, hydropower, critical minerals, etc.
In turn, the EU Supreme Representative focused on the signed agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation and noted that the European Union is interested in strengthening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas of mutual interest – in economics, trade, as well as in the field of sustainable development and human rights.
