US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met in New York with UN Secretary General Antoniu Gutherrish and discussed issues of ensuring a fair and strong world in Ukraine.
This is stated in a written statement by the head of the press service of the State Department of Ned Price following the results of negotiations.
“They discussed the need to promote the fair and strong world in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of continuing work on protecting the UN Charter and providing humanitarian support to Ukraine and the region,” said the diplomat.
According to him, the head of American diplomacy emphasized the “importance of automatic extension” of the “grain transaction until March 18.
Blinken and Guterrish also discussed the consequences of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. They “confirmed the need for constant humanitarian access to Syria so that the UN and humanitarian organizations can deliver vital assistance to the victims.”
Secretary of State and Secretary General also discussed the humanitarian needs of Afghanistan.
