US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is convinced that China will have to make a choice in opposition to Russia against Ukraine, since he “affects his reputation in the world.” This is reported by “Voice of America”.
Blinken reminded that even before Russia’s invasion of Russia, Moscow and Beijing adopted a joint statement, which stressed that the friendship between them “does not have borders.”
“I think now in some way it is checked, what these borders are, because China is in a difficult position,” said Blinken.
He also recalled that China has repeatedly stated that his policy is based on the compliance with the UN Charter and on the principles that underlie it.
“We are waiting for China to defend the principles, which, as he declares, he adheres to. But he does not do it. I think he is in an increasingly inconvenient position due to the fact that there is a huge gap meanwhile For that China allegedly acts, and by what he truly does. I think it affects his reputation in the world, in many parts of the world, “said US Secretary.
Blinken stressed that the essence is not to stand on the side of the United States, but to be on the side that is right.
“The essence is to support the fundamental principles of the system of international relations or chaos, or conflict. And, ultimately, China will have to make a choice,” Blinken stressed.
