Blinken: fears of Turkey due to reception of Sweden in NATO are justified

Fear in the field of security, expressed by Ankara in connection with the prospect of joining NATO Sweden, are justified. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

According to him, both Finland and Sweden took the necessary steps to eliminate the concern of Turkey.

“Other NATO allies and the United States now believe that Sweden should officially join NATO. We expect this to happen at the NATO summit in July,” Blinken said at a meeting with the Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tayani in Washington.

He noted that this week the next meeting with the participation of representatives of Turkey, Sweden and NATO on the issue of joining Stockholm to the Blok will take place.
