US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on the eve of Armenian-Azerbaijani talks talked to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, noting that “now is not the time for escalation” in the Transcaucasia, reports the State Department website.
As noted on the site of the department, the Secretary of State condemned the monstrous war crimes of the Kremlin in Ukraine and stressed the constant commitment of the United States and their partners to attract the Russian Federation and its accomplices to liability for an unprovised and unjustified war against Ukraine.
Blinken in a conversation with Pashinyan stressed that now is not the time for further escalation in the region. The Secretary-General expressed support for further peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the meeting scheduled for April 6, the meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia with the Chairman of the European Council. He confirmed that the United States is ready to help, interacting on a bilateral basis and with like-minded partners, including in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
