The War [of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir] Putin against Ukraine turned out to be a strategic failure and significantly reduced the power, interests and influence of Russia in the coming years. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, speaking at one of the events in Helsinki.
According to him, the United States, along with allies and partners, support Kyiv, and Moscow paid for its initiatives.
Blinken noted that the United States and its allies were looking for diplomatic decisions and made efforts so that Moscow would not exacerbate the “false” crisis at the time when threats to Ukraine sounded from the Russian Federation. “President [US Joe] Biden told President Putin that we are ready to discuss our mutual fears on security issues. In addition, we presented written proposals to weaken tension,” said Blinken.
According to him, Putin has tried to turn the Russian army for the past 20 years, equipped with the most modern weapons. “The Kremlin often stated that he had the second largest army in the world, and many believed this. Even today, many consider the Russian army the second largest in Ukraine. However, this is an example of failure, taking into account equipment, technology, leadership, military strategy, tactics and combat spirit, ”says the Secretary of State.
Blinken noted that the Ukrainians themselves will write their future, and the actions of Russia only strengthen the determination of this people. “Ukraine will never be Russia. This sovereign and independent country, which is determined by control of its fate with all its determination. Putin failed to make Ukraine Russia,” the head of American diplomacy said.
Secretary of State noted that the United States has no problems with the Russian people who have no vote right since the beginning of this tragic war. “We regret that Putin sent dozens and thousands of Russians to death in a war that he could put an end if he wanted, and which has destructive consequences for the economy and future of Russia,” added Blinken.
