“The United States is engaged in relation to Russia as diplomacy, and is ready to respond hard to those steps of Moscow, which are aggressive.” This was stated by the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, reports TASS.
Speaking about the situation around the possible invasion of Russia to Ukraine, US Secretary of State noted that the President of the Country of Joe Biden gives a decisive preference to predictable relations with Moscow.
“We are dealing with diplomacy and containment at the same time. They are in parallel. President Joe Biden during his first meeting in Geneva a few months ago told President Putin, that we give a decisive preference to more predictable and stable relations between Russia and the United States. But if Russia will continue reckless or aggressive actions, we will reply, and answer decisively, “the head of American diplomacy said.
According to Blinken, the US authorities are ready to use various channels for security negotiations, including a strategic stability dialogue with Moscow.
“We are ready for diplomatic interaction through a variety of channels: through the existing dialogue on strategic stability between Russia and the United States, through the Russia-NATO Council on issues, especially related to NATO, as well as through the OSCE,” he said.
He also noted that Washington now has no plans for holding a new meeting of the presidents of Russia and the United States and the Russian-American Summit.
