US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during the upcoming visit to China intends to discuss issues with the leadership of the PRC regarding the resumption of the work of a number of bilateral mechanisms, as well as the situation around Ukraine.
This was stated at a briefing by the coordinator on strategic communications in the National Security Council of the White House John Kirby.
According to him, during this trip, “great attention” will be paid to the “results of the meeting” of US President Joe Biden and Chinese Chinese Xi Jinping in Bali in November 2022.
“One of the results was that the leaders agreed to meet their assistants to understand if there are any bilateral mechanisms that can be restored or activated,” Kirby explained.
The representative of the White House noted that Blinken intends to affect “many other questions” in consultations with the Chinese side.
According to Kirby, the war in Ukraine will be “among these issues.”
