36-year-old Royal Yusibov, a resident of the Marneul district of Georgia, was engaged in drug trafficking in Baku in the company with an unidentified citizen of Iran, who called himself “Gahraman.”
According to the materials of the criminal case, Yusibov was detained by police officers in the village of Zabit, when allegedly driving drugs to the client. During the search, Yusibov found three kilograms of marijuana and more than 500 grams of heroin.
As it turned out during the investigation, the money made from the sale of drugs, Yusibov was supposed to send a partner via the Internet.
In the accusations of Royal, Yusibov did not plead guilty. In his statement, he said that he moved to Azerbaijan from the Marneul district of Georgia, he graduated from high school in Ganja and is currently a resident of the village of Hokmali of the Apheron district.
Yusibov also said that he led the Pantyurkist content blog on social networks and it was on the Internet that he met Iran citizen, nicknamed Gahram.
According to the defendant, after some time Iranian asked Yusibov to bring his personal belongings to Iran, since he himself could not cross the border because of the pandemic. At the same time, Gahraman asked Yusibov to pick up money from the village of Vishnevka and transfer them to the person who would bring his things.
Yusibov said that, having settled in the climb, he discovered a bag with dried grass among Gahraman’s things. According to the accused, it was at that moment that he was arrested by police officers.
Yusibov did not recognize his involvement in drugs. Moreover, he told the court that for patriotic reasons, he would never spread drugs in Azerbaijan.
Nevertheless, the court did not take into account the acquittals of Yusibov and sentenced the accused to 8 years in prison.
