A boat with illegal migrants rolled off the coast of the island of Jerro in the south-west of Spain, as a result of which 9 people were killed.
According to the official Spanish news agency EFE with reference to the emergency assistance department, the ship turned over the night before at the Las Plaiyas Bay. Rescuers of the Spanish coast guard managed to safely deliver 27 people ashore.
According to eyewitnesses, about 50 people are listed in the lists of missing. Search and rescue operations continue.
The authorities report that two of the rescued unreal migrants were taken by helicopter to the hospital.
