The Supreme EU Supreme EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel said that if the Western countries cease to support Kyiv, the war in Ukraine will end in 15 days, but at the same time Russian President Vladimir Putin will achieve his goals.
He said this in an interview with the Spanish news site “20Minutos”.
He noted that many, including Ukrainians, want a speedy end of the war, but emphasized the importance of how it ends. “If we stop supporting Ukraine, the war will end in 15 days. But then Putin will achieve his goals,” said Borrel.
According to him, such an outcome will pose a threat to both Ukraine and the safety of Europe. “We must do our best so that when the time comes for negotiations, they take place on conditions that correspond to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” he added.
