The British Army adopted a new SKY Saber air defense system to reflect the threats emanating from Russian fighters, reports the Times newspaper.
It is noted that the new air defense system came to replace Rapier missiles used since the 1970s. New rockets are able to hit a target with a tennis ball flying with sound speed. In addition, Sky Saber can control flight 24 missiles at the same time, which can destroy fighters, drones and smart laser guidance bombs.
As the sources of publication are noted, the ministry wanted to launch a new air defense system, “to reflect the threats emanating from Russian invisible fighters, such as the Su-57, which NATO gave the FELON code name.”
