British intelligence on latest situation in east of Ukraine 27 June

British intelligence believes that in the coming weeks the Russian army will already depend on reserve forces, however, despite the constant shortage of reservists, Moscow is reluctant to perceive the idea of universal mobilization. This is stated in the intelligence review of the British Ministry of Defense.

as noted, although the Northodonet-Lisican “pocket” remains the main operational focus of Russia, the week of constantly intense shelling indicates that Russia is trying to take the initiative on the northern axis of Izum. At the same time, Ukrainian troops continue to hold the line in this sector, using the forest area well to support their defense.

“In the coming weeks, the Russian campaign will most likely rely more and more on the trains of reserve forces,” the review said.

British intelligence notes that Russian reserves consist of several separate components that Russia almost certainly began to use.

The Russian combat reserve of the army is a recent innovation consisting of foster volunteer reservists operating part -time and unfolding as entire units, as a rule, intended to perform tasks in the rear.

The human mobilization resource is a significant fund of all veterans who have served in the regular army over the past five years.

“Russian authorities probably use volunteers of this category to replenish third battalions as part of regular brigades,” the review said.

“Despite the constant deficiency of reservists for deploying in Ukraine, the Russian leadership probably reluctantly perceives the idea of giving an order to mobilize,” British intelligence says.
