British intelligence on situation in Severodonetsk

All the main bridges across the Seversky Donets River, connecting Severodonetsk with the territory controlled by Ukraine, most likely destroyed. This is stated in the daily report of British intelligence.

“Ukraine probably managed to deduce most of its combat units, which initially held the city. The situation remains extremely difficult for Ukrainian forces and civilians who remained east of the river,” the statement said.

Since the bridges are most likely destroyed, Russia will now have to either bring a crossing across the river or advance through the flanks to turn tactical benefits into an operational advantage.

“Russian fighting forces in the Donbass, most likely, act as part of more and more fragmented and strongly unfinished groups. According to the Ukrainian authorities, some Russian battalion tactical groups (BTG), usually consisting of 600-800 people, were able to collect only 30 Soldier, ”the message says.

It is also reported that for both sides fighting in the cities on the front line, the battles are probably increasingly moving to small groups of troops usually operating in foot.

“Some of the strengths of Russia, such as its advantage in the number of tanks, become less relevant in this environment. This probably contributes to the slow speed of promotion,” the message said.
