A quarter of British families who participate in the government program for the placement of refugees from Ukraine in August plans to refuse further participation. The reason for this was a sharp increase in food prices and utilities, writes Daily Mail.
About 70% of the owners say that taking Ukrainian refugees was much more difficult than they thought. Even with state support, some people spent thousands of pounds to help guests. 25% of the owners plan to refuse to accept refugees in August.
The participants in the state program say that due to the financial crisis in the country, it is more and more difficult for them to take care of immigrants every day, and they themselves are left without money for existence.
In addition to the financial crisis, the host side encountered a language barrier and cultural differences. Problems added constant delays in state subsidies, which are laid for families receiving immigrants from Ukraine.
