August 22 in the South African Republic, in the city of Johannesburg, the 15th Summit of BRICS-an interstate association, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, will begin.
The event will end on August 24th.
A group of countries, known as BRICS, represents 40 percent of the world population and a quarter of the world economy.
The current summit is crucial from the point of view of joining new members and steps regarding the introduction of a common currency for the BRICS countries.
Formal applications for joining the association were submitted by 22 countries, including a number of Muslim.
It is expected that the currency of BRICS – if it appears – will become a direct competitor to the US dollar.
BRICS
Acronym BRICS is formed from the names of countries in English. The purpose of the organization of it is to develop comprehensive cooperation between the countries participating in the field of economics, finance, education, science, culture, etc.
At the very beginning, the association was called Brik and it included 4 countries: Brazil, Russia, India and China. Since 2010, South Africa joined them and over the next 13 years the association is called BRICS.
According to BRICS Business Council, the total GDP of the Blok participating countries amounted to 31.5 percent of the World gross product
It is expected that by 2030 this figure will reach 50 percent.
BRICS today is 18 percent of trade in the world.
BRICS countries together have 22 % of foreign investments.
BRICS countries have a total area of 39,746 220 km2 (15,346 100 sq. Miles) and, according to estimates, the total population of about 3.21 billion people, or about 26.7% of the sushi surface and 41.5% the population of the planet.
New currency BRICS will challenge the dollar
Creation of a single currency BRICS in the future can play a role in undermining the hegemony of the American dollar.
The introduction of the countries of the community of their own currency will become one of the central topics of the upcoming summit.
China, which has the strongest economy in BRICS, actively advocates the implementation of the idea of a common monetary unit.
Putin will take part in the BRICS Summit on the video
Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the summit in video conference mode. This is due to the Order for his arrest issued by the International Criminal Court (MUS) in the Hague.
on the occasion of the summit in Johannesburg, security measures will be strengthened.
Dadge around the Sandton Convention Center, where the summit will pass, will be blocked for the duration of the event.
