In Brussels, under the auspices of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, a meeting of Azerbaijani President Hikmet Gadzhiev and Secretary of the Security Council Armenia Armenia Grigoryan, was held.
According to the press service of the EU Council, during the meeting, the participants discussed the situation in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
Gadzhiev spoke about Azerbaijan’s plans to provide humanitarian assistance and ensure the safety of the local population.
The meeting also made it possible to conduct an intensive exchange of views between participants on the relevance of a possible meeting of leaders as part of the third summit of the European political community (EPC), scheduled for October 5 in Granada.
“EU believes that a possible meeting in Granada should be used both by Yerevan and Baku to publicly confirm their commitment to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of each other in accordance with the agreements reached earlier in Prague and Brussels,” the report says.
