A senior official in the EU, who wished to remain anonymous, told in an interview with Anadol that relations with Turkey remains one of the most important issues for the European Union. According to him, despite the fact that the process of joining Turkey into the EU is temporarily suspended, it is still a candidate country.

The source recalled that at the last EU summit, the leaders of the countries asked the head of European diplomacy by Josep Boar to prepare a report on Turkey. At the meeting on Thursday, a preliminary exchange of views on this report will be held.
