In Brussels on Thursday, July 6, a fifth meeting of a constant joint mechanism for the implementation of the trilateral memorandum, concluded by Turkey, Sweden and Finland, on the fields of the NATO summit, will be held. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.
In discussions, chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the delegation of the three countries will take part.
The meeting will be presented at the meeting, the head of the Foreign Ministry Hakan Fidan, the head of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Ibrahim Kalyn, chief adviser to the president Akif Chagatai and the deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Buraku Akchapar.
It is planned to discuss the steps taken by the governments of Finland and Sweden in the direction of the implementation of the provisions of the tripartite memorandum, including in the matter of the fight against terrorism, and the presence of progress in this direction after the last meeting of the mechanism held on June 14 in Ankara.
A tripartite memorandum between Turkey, Finland and Sweden was signed at the NATO summit in Madrid on June 28, 2022. The first meeting of the constant joint mechanism created as part of the memorandum took place on August 26 in the Finnish city of Vantaa.
