In Brussels on Thursday, a fifth meeting of a constant joint mechanism created to implement the provisions of a tripartite memorandum concluded by Turkey, Sweden and Finland on the fields of the NATO summit.

In the discussions under the chairmanship of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, delegations of three countries take part.
Turkey at the meeting is represented by the head of the Foreign Ministry Hakan Fidan, the head of the National Intelligence Organization (Mi̇T) Ibrahim Kalyn, chief adviser to the president Akif Chagatai and Foreign Deputy Minister Burak Akchapar.
It is planned to discuss the steps taken by the governments of Finland and Sweden in the direction of the implementation of the provisions of the tripartite memorandum, including in the matter of the fight against terrorism, and the presence of progress in this direction after the last meeting of the mechanism held on June 14 in Ankara.
On the eve of the meeting, a meeting of the Foreign Minister of Turkey with the Secretary General of the Alliance took place.
A tripartite memorandum between Turkey, Finland and Sweden was signed at the NATO summit in Madrid on June 28, 2022. The first meeting of the constant joint mechanism created as part of the memorandum took place on August 26 in the Finnish city of Vantaa.
