The Ministers of the Interior of the European Union decided to include Bulgaria and Romania in the ground part of the Schengen zone. Both countries can now enjoy the right of visa -free movement across the land boundaries, which expands their participation in the free movement zone.
Before that, from March 31, Bulgaria and Romania have become part of Schengen for sea and air messages. The decision on complete accession was detained because of the veto the Netherlands, Hungary and Austria, which expressed fears for migration and corruption. However, Austria recently removed her objection, which opened the way to finalizing the process.
Bulgaria and Romania have been EU members since 2007 and have long sought to enter the Schengen zone. This event will be a significant step towards their complete integration into European structures.
