Bulgaria received Azerbaijani gas from Greece

The first trial supply of Azerbaijani gas from Greece to Bulgaria began on the new IGB pipeline, the BNR radio station reports.

According to the message, the trial volume of “blue fuel” will be pumped until July.

The completion of construction and the launch of the IGB gas pipeline (Greece-Bulgaria interconnector) were scheduled for the first half of 2021, but they were transferred to a later date in connection with the pandemia of coronavirus and problems with the supply of materials. It is noted that the highway will be connected to the floating storage station and regaling of liquefied natural gas, which they plan to build in Alexanderopolis.

The power of the pipe is three billion cubic meters of gas per year, but potentially pumping can increase to five billion cubic meters.

IGB is the number of projects representing the overall interest of the European Commission, which approved co -financing by the EU in the amount of 84 million euros.
