Bulgaria placed on the border with Turkey 350 soldiers to help the police forces to deter strengthen the increased flow of illegal migrants. The head of the country’s defense department of Georgi Panayotov said this on the air of the BTV television channel, Interfax reports.
“Servicemen arrived today at the Bulgarian-Turkish border to support border guards,” said the minister.
Panayotov also stressed that 40 units of equipment were placed on the border.
It is noted that over the current year, the border of Bulgaria was illegally crossed over 6.5 thousand people, which is 3 times the number of illegal immigrants that penetrated into the country for 9 months of 2020.
Bulgaria is located on one of the key routes that are used by illegallands in order to penetrate European countries from the Middle East and from Afghanistan.
