On Wednesday, the Socialist Party of Bulgaria refused to offer a new coalition government after she could not recruit the majority in parliament. Now the country is facing early elections, writes Reuters.
Socialists last tried to form the government after the coalition government of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov was resigned.
It is expected that President Rumen Radev will receive a mandate for the formation of the government, after which he will announce early elections in October.
The current political impasse jeopardizes Bulgaria to join the eurozone in 2024 and access to the monetary assistance of the European Union.
