“Bulgaria will begin negotiations on an increase in the volume of natural gas supplies from Azerbaijan next week.” This was said by the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria Rosen Christ.
He emphasized that Bulgaria managed to agree on a place of unloading in Turkey at a competitive price, which allowed us to accept the proposal of the American company Cheniere Energy about the supply of one tanker of liquefied natural gas for October.
As the minister noted, this volume covers only about a third of the Bulgarian gas consumption. Another third of Bulgaria counts on deliveries from Azerbaijan, and for the remaining third for October the government will have to negotiate with other suppliers.
“For November and December, we could not find slots for liquefied gas at an economically profitable price,” added Christ.
