Bulgaria will refuse Russian oil by the end of 2024, said Prime Minister Kirill Petkov. According to him, the country will be given a temporary delay from the embargo for oil supply from Russia. This is due to the fact that the Bulgarian oil refinery Lukoil operates mainly on Russian oil and “cannot quickly rebuild his work,” said Petkov.
The Bulgarian Prime Minister is pleased that the European Union (EU) managed to coordinate the introduction of the sixth package of sanctions against Russia. Kirill Petkov said that the sanctions affect the supply of 90% of oil, so “a significant part of the cash flows to Russia will be stopped.”
“In the coming days, a general conclusion on sanctions will be presented, according to which Bulgaria will receive an exception to the introduction of the embargo for the supply of Russian oil until the end of 2024 … As an exception, we will remain the only country that will continue to receive Russian oil through the marine terminal” ,- quotes the words of Petkov TASS.
