The Parliament of Bulgaria allowed the supply of weapons to Ukraine for use in the war with Russia, reports The Sofia Globe.
“For” 175 deputies voted, “against” – 49, abstained alone. In front of the vote in the parliament hall, four -hour debate continued.
Now the government has a month to prepare a draft decision on military and military-technical assistance that Bulgaria should provide to Ukraine. The authorities will also prepare the signing of agreements on the provision of the necessary military equipment, taking into account the “capabilities of Bulgaria.”
The government agrees on future supplies with NATO countries to provide the country with military equipment and thus accelerate the time frame during which Bulgaria should get rid of its outdated weapons of Soviet times.
In addition, parliament also requires the government to develop a package of measures to participate in Bulgaria in the restoration of Ukraine and support Kyiv’s claim against Russia in the European Court of Human Rights.
