Bulgarian Prime Minister Thanks Turkey For Help In Extinguishing Fires

Bulgarian Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev thanked Turkey for his contribution to the fight against fires in the country.

“We show how good friends and neighbors should work together,” said Glavchev, addressing the Turkish teams at an event held in the village of Voden near Plovdiv (Bulgaria).

Glavchev noted that the Turkish teams came to Bulgaria shortly after they turned to the Turkish Embassy in Sofia for help. According to him, this indicates a good relationship between Turkey and Bulgaria, and thanked firefighters from Turkey in Turkish.

Prime Minister Glavchev and Minister of Internal Affairs of Bulgaria Kalin Stoyanov presented mentioned gifts to Turkish teams.

The event was also attended by the Consul General of Turkey in Plovdiva Korshan Küngerey.

On July 17, a team of 40 people with 3 pickups, 4 all -terrain vehicles, 2 fire engines, 2 graders, 1 bulldozer, 1 Lodar, 1 tow truck and 40 people were sent from Turkey on a fire in Bulgaria, and 40 personnel, and July 18 – on July 18 A team of 32 people with 2 pickups, 5 all -terrain vehicles, 1 grader, 1 bulldozer, 1 excavator and 1 tow truck.

The fire that broke out on July 13 in the SweeGRAGRAGRAL region of Bulgaria, 6 kilometers from the border with Turkey, spread to Mladinovo and Mikhalich in the south of the country in 2 days, resulting in tens of thousands of hectares of forest and agricultural lands in the region.
