Currently, there are about 440 nuclear reactors in more than 30 countries in the world. The reactors in question are 10 percent of the world’s needs for electricity. The relevant data leads to “Anadola” with reference to the World Nuclear Association WNA.
In total, since the 1950s, when the first commercial nuclear power plants were put into operation, 214 reactors were disabled.
This year, 3 reactors in India, the USA and the United Arab Emirates were connected to the mains, and the construction of 3 reactors in Egypt, China and Russia began. Since the beginning of the year, 1 reactor has been closed in Russia.
Nuclear energy still remains preferable, since it is considered environmentally friendly technology and exceeds other energy sources in power production power.
In only 12 countries, 56 nuclear reactors are built. Among them are the first atomic power station “Akku”, consisting of 4 power units.
In total, this year it is planned to complete the construction of 12 reactors, including one power unit in Turkey, 8 reactors will be commissioned next year, and in 2026 – 10. Electricity will begin to produce electricity in the world of nuclear reactors in 2027 year, 7 – in 2028 and 3 – in 2029.
Five reactors under construction now will be connected to the mains in 2030.
The total installed capacity of 56 reactors that will be commissioned from 2024 to 2030 in the world is estimated at 62,300 megavatts.
Turkey takes 3rd place in the world in terms of power of nuclear reactors under construction. In terms of capacities, the first place is occupied by China with 30 943 megavatts.
In second place is India with a capacity of 5900 megavatts, followed by Turkey and Egypt with 4800 megavatts each.
Russia builds 4 reactors with a total capacity of 4 010 megavatts. Great Britain is included in the five best in the world with 3,440 megavatts.
In the top ten countries standing out in terms of quantity and power of the reactors under construction in the world, they include:
