The Ukrainian court may demand the transfer of the prisoner of the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili for interrogation in the case of improper appeal in the Georgian prison. This was announced by the lawyer of the Georgian politician Shalv Khachapuridze.
At the beginning of the year, Ukraine began production on the excess of official powers by law enforcement officials of Georgia in relation to Saakashvili (part 3 of Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The ex-president was recognized as the victim taking into account the fact that, due to “unlawful actions”, he was caused by physical and moral damage. “
“On October 6, a court will be held at which the lawyer will file a request for the interrogation of Mikhail Saakashvili as a witness and his delivery to Ukraine. The prosecutor’s office supported this petition, and we send documents to Ukraine that Saakashvili is in custody. that on October 6, the Ukrainian court will decide on the transfer of Saakashvili to Ukraine, ”said Khachapuridze, his words are given by Georgian media.
The lawyer explained that if the court maintains a petition, the issue of sending Saakashvili to Ukraine will depend only “on the will of the Georgian authorities.”
Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that the court session of the ex-president of Georgia did not take place in Tbilisi due to a sharp deterioration in his state of health.
