Canada has expanded sanctions against Russia, according to the website of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to information, cooperation with Russian oil and gas and chemical companies fell under a new ban. They are forbidden to provide 28 types of “vital” services, including construction and engineering work, transportation of oil and gas, the sale of metals, ores, wood and chemicals.
Canada Foreign Ministry noted that about 50% of the federal budget of Russia accounts for the oil, gas and chemical industries. Sanctions are introduced in response to the continued war against Ukraine.
