The Italian coach Carlo Anchalotti appeared against the trial on charges of tax evasion before the Spanish tax authorities related to his first period of work at Real Madrid (2013-2015). Carlo Ancelotti appeared in the Madrid provincial court, accompanied by his wife, Marianne Barren, son and assistant coach “Real Madrid” Davide Ancheelotti.
Before the trial, which attracted great attention of the press, Carlo Anchelotti, entering the court, made a short statement in which he noted that he had come to testify, and not conclude a deal, defending his innocence, as before.
Ancelotti is accused of non -payment of taxes totaling 1 million 62 thousand euros, including 386,361 euros in 2014 and 675 718 euros in 2015, in his first period of work at Real Madrid.
The prosecutor’s office requires for the Italian coach 4 years and 9 months in prison, as well as the collection of tax debt by the tax service through the arrest of property and the payment of a total of 3 million 186 thousand euros, including fines.
Carlo Ancelotti still denied the accusations against him and insisted on his innocence.
In Spain in the past, many representatives of the football world, including coach Jose Mourinho, football players Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Ardu Turan, were convicted of tax evasion, but then settled the situation with the tax authorities, paying fines.
