“Friendly countries” continue to connect to the financial message transfer system (SPFS) of the Bank of Russia. This was announced by the director of the Department of the National Payment System of the Central Bank Alla Bakina during a speech in the State Duma (lower house of the Federal Assembly (Parliament) of the Russian Federation).
“Foreign partners from our friendly countries, despite the whole situation, show interest in working with the Russian payment infrastructure. Non -residents continue to connect to our SPFS system. The system has 177 foreign participants from 24 countries,” Bakina said, which quoted TASS.
Bakina noted that the work to connect new participants will continue.
The transfer system of financial messages of the Bank of Russia (SPFS) is the Russian interbank system for transferring financial information and making payments, which operates on the basis of the information and telecommunication system of the mega -regulator.
March 22, 2017, the head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, stated that the conditions for the functioning of payment systems and banks have been created in the event of a country of disconnection from SWIFT or other restrictions.
According to the Central Bank’s report, the SPFS users at the end of 2024 were 584 organizations, the number of messages inside the system increased by 23% in annual terms compared to the traffic 2023.
