The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has retained the discount rate at the level of 7.75%.
In the information of the Central Bank, it is noted that the lower threshold of the percentage corridor is saved at 6.25%, the upper – 9.25%.
The Central Bank noted that the decision to maintain the discount rate was made taking into account positive trends in terms of payment balance (surplus at the level of 22.5% of GDP according to the results of the first quarter), as well as on the basis that inflation pressure is associated with imports .
According to the Central Bank, inflation at the end of 2022 will be lower than current indicators (May 13.7% 2022 by May 2021).
The next meeting of the Central Bank dedicated to the accounting rate will be held on July 29.
