Investing in cryptocurrencies is extremely risky activity, an unskilled investor must be protected from it. This was announced by the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank Vladimir Chistyukhin as part of the Russian Forum of the Financial Market.
“We believe that the performing of operations and investing in cryptocurrencies is an extremely risky activity, and an unskilled investor should be protected from such activity,” said Chistyukhin, the words of which are quoted by TASS.
He noted that today the implementation of any operations, transactions and the release of tools tied to cryptocurrency actually affects the “gray zone”, an unregulated zone.
“so that all professional participants in the financial market do not subject themselves to, and through themselves and their customers to the risks that certain operations or transactions can be recognized as illegal and illegal, we believe that first we need to decide on the interpretation of the law and only after that to produce such tools,” Chistyukhin said.
Earlier, the Bank of Russia, in accordance with the order of the head of the Russian state, sent proposals to the government on the regulation of investment in cryptocurrencies (digital currencies).
In August 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the launch of an experiment to create a site for the use of cryptocurrencies in international calculations.
