The Committee of the Monetary Policy of the Central Bank of Turkey has retained the accounting rate (the rate of a weekly auction) at the level of 50 percent. This is stated in the message following the meeting of the Central Bank.
“Taking into account the delayed consequences of tightening monetary policy, the committee decided to maintain the discount rate unchanged,” it was said in the message.
At the same time, the Central Bank noted that the regulator is still very attentive to inflation risks. “The committee carefully monitors the correspondence of inflationary expectations and price behavior to forecasts,” the press release says.
