The chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin and the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev discussed the course of investigation of the circumstances of the crash of the passenger aircraft Embraer 190 Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) for Aktau. The heads of departments discussed the course of investigation of the circumstances of the crash of AZAL aircraft in the area of the city of Aktau of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It was about the established comprehensive interaction of Russian investigators and forensics with colleagues from the investigative-operational groups of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Bastrykin assured that the most experienced employees of the central apparatus of the IC of Russia in the field of investigation of air transports equipped with advanced forensic technology were involved on the Russian side.
He added that a set of investigative actions is carried out, the purpose of which is to establish all the causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
During the conversation, the parties determined the primary tasks as part of the joint investigation plan, expressing readiness for further comprehensive cooperation.
In the morning, December 25, the Embraer aircraft 190 J2-824 number, which was from Baku to Grozny, gave a signal of an emergency, being over the Caspian Sea. Information about this was received at 11.00 in the regional emergency. Later it became known about the emergency landing of the aircraft 3 kilometers from the city of Aktau.
On board the aircraft were 62 passengers and 5 crew members. With the crash of the azerbaijan airlines aircraft, 29 people survived, 38 survived.
Kazakhstan Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev said that many bodies were very burned and the identification procedure will be required.
He said that law enforcement agencies of the republic will investigate the aircraft of AZAL aircraft in Kazakhstan. “Astana is ready to cooperate with colleagues from other countries,” Bozumbaev added.
