At the final meeting of the Great Twenty summit (G20) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian President Louis Inasiu Lulva, Silva handed over a symbolic hammer to the President of the South African Republic (South Africa) Siril Ramafos. Thus, the chairmanship in the G20 passed to South Africa.
In the final speech, Lula da Silva emphasized that important decisions were made at the summit, such as the adoption of a roadmap to strengthen multilateral development banks (UND), discussions on Africa and external debt, the creation of a working group to expand the rights and capabilities of women and adoption The goals of sustainable development (SDA) 18, in which the main attention is paid to ethnic and racial equality.
The Brazilian leader reminded of the work done. “This year we organized more than 140 meetings in 15 cities of Brazil. We reached a consensus in almost all working groups. We understand that we only affected the surface of the deep problems facing the world, but we work hard,” the president said.
The head of state emphasized that now the right time to evaluate achievements and determine further actions.
Having told about historical, cultural, political and economic relations between Africa and Latin America, Lula da Silva wished the success of Ramafos.
