Chanakkale’s Strait Is Suspended Movement For Transit Vessels Due To Fog

In the Strait of Chanakkale (Dardanella), bilateral movement for transit of ships due to dense fog is temporarily suspended.

Fog, intensified in the open sea by morning, led to a deterioration in visibility.

Shipping Office in the Chanakkale Strait informed the captains of the vessels following in the northern and southern directions, which from 06.20 the Strait was closed for the bilateral passage of transit vessels.

It is reported that the movement of the vessels will return to the usual channel after the fog is dissipated.
