On the eve of the meeting with the Austrian Chancellor, Karl Nehammer, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that it would be better if the war ended rather. But in the commentary of one of the participants of the meeting, it does not mention the method of termination of war – peaceful or military, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to NYT.
Nehammer after the meeting quoted Putin: “It would be better if she – the war – rather ended.” But the Chancellor of Austria admits that it was not clear from the context of the conversation, about which method of termination of the war was speech.
On the one hand, this phrase could signal that Putin is ready for peace negotiations, but cannot be excluded from the President of the Russian Federation and the desire of fast victory. Chancellor also noted that Europe cannot have illusions: President Putin fully accepted the logic of war and operates accordingly.
