Chancellor Of Germany And Polish Prime Minister Discussed Issue Of Monitoring Land Borders

German Chancellor Olaf Sholts discussed with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tupkoe decision to control the ground boundaries of Germany.

According to the Chancellery of the Head of Government, Chancellor Scholz held a telephone conversation with Polish Prime Minister of Poland.

They discussed the decision on the beginning of temporary internal control on the ground borders within the framework of migration policy measures initiated by the Government of Germany and issues of reducing illegal migration within the European law and order.

Having emphasized that the problems of illegal migration and smuggling can only be solved together, Scholz and Tusk agreed that close cooperation between European partners is extremely important.

Both leaders also agreed to strengthen the protection of the external borders of Europe, due to the fact that Belarus uses migrants for their own purposes.

Poland responded to Germany’s statement about the introduction of police control at all the land boundaries to contain illegal migration.

Earlier, Poland Prime Minister Tusk said that Germany’s decision to begin temporary internal control at the ground boundaries to limit illegal migration is “unacceptable”.
