Regarding the problems of employment, the women faced, the speaker of the parliament pointed out education as one of the main sources of inequality in the field of employment and, in general, gender problems. If we are already talking about building an inclusive society today, we should pay more attention to strengthening education and creating legal foundations for equal opportunities in this area, since this will help more effectively get rid of interference to increase the powers of women in political, economic and other dimensions, said She.

Gafarova also informed the audience about the successes of gender policy in Azerbaijan, saying that the proportion of women in the occupied part of the country’s population exceeds 48 percent – and in the public service it is approaching 28 percent.

Parliaments have enough powers to not only adopt laws aimed at solving gender problems, but also play a role in the implementation of these laws. And it is precisely in this cut that the cooperation between parliament and the state is of particular importance, she noted.
