The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE PIA Kauma postponed a visit to Georgia. This was reported in the social network X.
“After discussing and a thorough consideration, I decided to postpone the visit to Georgia until the time of the OSCE parliamentary Assembly will be the most effective. We are still ready to listen to all the votes and offer assistance in implementing the recommendations of the BDIPCh/OSCE for elections,” – She noted.
The plans of the head of the OSCA to visit Tbilisi caused criticism from the opposition and the fifth president of the Republic of Salome Zurabishvili.
“The President of the Personal Assembly of the OSCE of PII Kauma, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly, insults people who have been on the streets for 40 days and survive the falsified elections,” Zurabishvili said on social networks x.
According to her, “a visit selected in such a wrong time, will not contribute to the resolution of the crisis, this can only be done.”
the European Union, the United States and the opposition of Georgia do not recognize the results of the parliamentary elections and condemn the decision of the ruling party “Georgian dream” to postpone the beginning of negotiations on the EU until 2028.
In turn, Prime Minister Irakli Kobahidze and the government accuse the opposition and the forces supported by the West of trying to overthrow power through “street actions.”
A number of European countries and the United States have already imposed sanctions against Georgian officials.
