“The process of expanding the European Union is pushed to the background. Narrow political interests form a summons.” This was announced to reporters by the Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlyut Chavushoglu, reports “Anadola.”
He noted that the modern European Union is closed in itself, and narrow political interests absorbed the expansion agenda.
“Nobody, for example, can really explain why Albania and Northern Macedonia have been waiting for adoption in the EU for so long,” he said.
Chavushoglu also drew attention to the fact that the expansion of the European Union was once one of the most successful political initiatives of the community.
