the opinions of Moscow and Ankara in some issues will be divided into some questions, but a dialogue with Russia, one of the most important regional players, must be maintained open and continue interaction. According to RIA Novosti, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Mevlyut Chavushoglu said in an interview with the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
“We are trying to establish working relationships with Russia. In some regional issues, Russia is the most important person. At the same time, it is not always easy to achieve positive results, but maybe it does not mean that in all matters we adhere to the same opinion. But We are able to speak openly. It is important to maintain the dialogue channels open, “said Chavushoglu, stressing that Turkey should defend its national interests and cannot jeopardize the security of the country.
“Russia understands this. We cooperate with Russia, when it is possible, but we remain unshakable when necessary,” said Turkish minister.
He noted that the dialogue with Russia should contribute to regional and international stability. “Syria is an example. Obviously, our opinions differ, and yet we found ways to work together. One of the results is the Constitutional Committee, the only current mechanism of UN resolution 2254,” the minister said.
