Chavushoglu: Azerbaijan was first to hold out hand of help from Turkey

Azerbaijan became the first country to reached out the hand of Turkey after destructive earthquakes. This is the manifestation of the slogan “One people – two states.” This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Chavushol at a joint press conference with the Azerbaijani colleague Jaykhun Bayramov on Saturday in the Turkish province of Kazakhmanmarash, Anadolu reports.

Chavushoglu recalled that the head of Azerbaijani diplomacy became the first representative of a foreign state to express his condolences and then visited the disaster zone in Turkey.

According to the Turkish minister, today 900 rescuers from Azerbaijan are involved in search and rescue operations in Turkey.

The Foreign Minister of Turkey noted that rescuers from Azerbaijan in recent days saved 50 inhabitants of Turkey as a whole. Chavushoglu also said that he visited the field hospital, deployed by Azerbaijan in the disaster zone.

The head of Turkish diplomacy said that from February 6, 99 countries of the world have proposed assistance in the elimination of the consequences of the disaster.

Note that the number of destructive earthquakes in the southeast of Turkey came close to 22 thousand people.
