Ankara expects from Moscow an answer to a proposal to hold a meeting between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN on grain export from Ukrainian ports. This was stated on Saturday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoglu at a press conference following negotiations with the Czech colleague Jan Lipavsky.
“We held negotiations with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov in Ankara, during which we discussed the resumption of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and the removal of restrictions on grain supply. We believe that the UN plan to export grain from Ukrainian ports is the most correct and the parties should be discussed. We announced their readiness to hold a meeting in Istanbul on this issue between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN, this is the UN proposal. Our position was clearly reported, now we are waiting for an answer from Russia both at the meeting and on other details, ”he said.
According to Chavushoglu, in the coming period, Turkey will continue to pay attention to these topics.
He also noted that Russia and terrorism are the two most important threats to NATO.
