“Ankara welcomes the increasing approach of the positions of Russia and Ukraine at every stage of the negotiation process.” This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlyut Chavushoglu following the meeting of delegations of Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul, reports “Anadolu”.
The head of Turkish diplomacy reported that in the negotiations in Istanbul, the coordination of a number of issues and approaching positions was recorded.
“Russia and Ukraine have achieved significant progress,” the Turkish minister explained.
Chavushoglu expressed satisfaction with the contribution of Ankara to the promotion of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.
“The more complex topics of the negotiations of Kyiv and Moscow will be discussed at the following stages of the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Russia. After that, the meeting of the presidents of the two countries will be indicated on the agenda,” the Turkish minister said.
At the same time, he stressed that Turkey in every way pushes the parties to the cessation of fire in Ukraine, which will open the way for a long-term political settlement.
