Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Finland and Sweden will hold a tripartite meeting in Bucharest on the issue of the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO, the Turkish television channel NTV said.
“We will meet in Bucharest with Foreign Ministers of Sweden and Finland in trilateral format,” said Chavushol.
Negotiations will be held in the capital of Romania as part of a meeting of NATO foreign ministers. Finland and Sweden will first take part in this format as observer countries.
Sweden and Finland submitted an application for joining NATO in May, connecting its decision with the outbreak of war in Ukraine. Turkey opposed the membership of both countries, accusing them of aiding terrorism.
